The Bowmore distillery is located on the Scottish island of Islay.
It is the oldest distillery on Islay, having first opened in 1779.
Our craftsmen stubbornly continue traditional methods such as mining peat to dry the malt and floor malting, which involves germinating barley by hand.
It is also known as the only Islay distillery to have been visited by Queen Elizabeth.
However, as business began to deteriorate, the owners continued to change.
In 1989, Suntory took a stake in the company, and in 1994 it became a wholly owned subsidiary and restructured the company.
Bowmore 12 Year Old is a single malt whisky blended with malts aged in bourbon and sherry casks, and is characterized by a harmonious blend of dry smoky notes and soft fruity notes.
It is easy to drink and has a unique sea scent.
