Laphroaig 10 years old

laphroaig

The Laphroaig distillery is located on the Isle of Islay in Scotland.

It was founded in 1815.

"Laphroaig" is a Gaelic word meaning "a beautiful hollow beside a wide bay."

Characterized by its uniquely intense peaty aroma, this malt has an extremely strong personality, and people either love it or hate it.

Laphroaig's distinctive aroma is so intense that it's often compared to "bottled smoke," "iodine tincture," or "disinfectant," but it's softened by the sweetness of the barrels used for aging.

The aging barrels used are empty Jack Daniel's barrels from Tennessee.

In 1994, it became the first single malt whisky from Scotland to be designated a Royal Warrant holder by the British Royal Family, and as proof of this, the label features a coat of arms with three ostrich feathers.
