Highland Park 12 years old

HighlandPark

The Highland Park distillery is located on Mainland, a large island in the Orkney Islands in northern Scotland.

Located at 59 degrees north latitude, this distillery is situated in one of the coldest regions.

The name Highland Park comes from the fact that the distillery was located on a hill called High Park.

It was founded in 1798.

We still continue floor malting and burn peat.

Because tall trees cannot grow in cold climates, the peat formed from accumulated shrubs creates a smokiness with a hint of sweetness, different from that of Islay.

It is also famous for being used in blended whiskies such as "Famous Grouse" and "Cutty Sark."

The distillery is owned by the same Edrington Group as Macallan, and is sold by Rémy Cointreau.

Highland Park 12 Year Old is a standard bottle in the current lineup.

It is made using a blend of Spanish oak and American oak sherry casks aged for 12 years or more.

A mild peat aroma.

It combines fruity notes from sherry casks with spiciness from Spanish oak.

It has a fragrant aroma and a sweet, mellow flavor.
