The Royal Lochnagar distillery is located in the eastern Highlands of Scotland, along the River Dee.
John Begg founded the distillery in 1845.

In 1848, John invited Queen Victoria and her husband Albert to the distillery.
The Queen, having been invited to visit the distillery, was so impressed with the whisky that she bestowed upon it the title of Royal.
Royal Lochnagar is a small distillery that has not changed its traditional production methods, and everything in its whisky making process is done by hand.
It is also famous for being used as a key malt in Johnnie Walker's Black Label, Blue Label, and VAT 69.
