It's been about 30 years since we started the distillery in Yoichi.
Founder Masataka Taketsuru chose Miyagikyo as the site for his second distillery.
A lush, green gorge blessed with two clear streams.
It is said that when Taketsuru first visited this area, he mixed Black Nikka whiskey with river water and drank it, and decided to build a distillery on the spot.
Miyagikyo single malt has a light and smooth taste, yet it also has a rich, sweet flavor.
A vibrant aroma reminiscent of apples and pears. A soft vanilla scent derived from the barrel.
It has a sweet and smooth texture, like dried fruit.
The finish offers a lingering sweetness of malt, a subtle bitterness, and a gentle oak aroma.
